American Paralympic Record set at MCAC Pool!

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Catawba freshman Ashley Owens (Stockbridge, GA/Stockbridge HS) set a new American Paralympic record to highlight swimming action this weekend at the Wingate Fall Frenzy Invite held at the Mecklenburg Aquatic Center on Saturday and Sunday. Owens set the mark in the 100 breast with a time of 1:23.19 just under the old mark of 1:23.90.

Real Meet Season to Begin!

Well, the season is about to come to a real start! Now that the intersquad and dual meets are over, the first open meet of the season is approaching. It’s the NSS 13/14 Winter Invite. Rumor is, this will be a great meet. With two local swimmers just returning from competing with the National Youth World Cup Team along with VA Beach’s Tide Swimming, and a number of NC teams, ready to dive in the MCAC pool, we should see some fast swimming.
